When aligning physical literacy with literacy, we understand that progressions are required to develop competencies. Just as ABCs help us spell and write, fundamental movements of running, jumping and throwing, help us be more prepared to actively participate in the many programs and services our communities offer. This session will introduce the concept of physical literacy and provide examples of what it looks like in an after school setting. This session provides information and strategies to help seamlessly incorporate this approach and bring physical literacy to life in after school programs, as well as understanding how it can help attract and retain participants in your program.
