Children with varying abilities: helping them take part and fit in

The author discusses the benefits of integrated programmes for children with three broad types of disabilities, ADHD and ADD, autism, and developmental disabilities, and how programmes should be set up according to the type of children who are participating and what their characteristics are. She offers suggestions such as: set the class up as a team, focus on cooperative games instead of competitive activities, repeat instructions, use the 'buddy system".
