Everybody Gets to Play is a Canada-wide initiative led by the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association (CPRA) to make recreation more accessible for low-income children and their families. It provides research and facts about poverty in Canada, the health and social consequences of poverty, and how recreation can improve the lives of kids, families and communities.
The Community Mobilization Tool Kit and Workshop provide step-by-step information on how to mobilize your community to increase access to recreation. The site also includes the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Supplement, the Making All Recreation Safe™ Community Mobilization Tool Kit, and the Relevant Recreation™ Tool Kit.
See also the Healthy Eating in a Recreation Setting resource, which will help to integrate healthy eating into recreation settings and services, especially as they relate to children in low-income families.
