Physical activity is essential to healthy development, and the early years are the best time to give children an active start. The Best Start Resource Centre has launched (2016) the new and improved haveaballtogether.ca, which includes tools, resources, and two online training modules.
The training modules have been developed to support continued learning about physical activity and physical literacy for children aged 0-6. They are independent of one another. You can complete both modules or, you can complete the module that applies best to your role or learning needs.
Also, find all the tools you need to be able to promote and encourage physical activity for children 0-6:
- Information about the importance of physical activity for the early years.
- Strategies for overcoming common barriers to getting children active.
- A searchable database with over 100 fun and simple games and activities for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarten-aged children.
- Tools to extend the learning such as videos, downloads and links to additional resources.
