Promoting Mental Health Amongst Children with a Disability

This article looks at: Quality, active after school programs; and, Quality, active after school programs, with a focus on how these apply to children with a disability.
Fostering positive mental health in children is an important aspect to leading quality of life. More than 800,000 children between the ages of four and 17 years of age experience a  mental health condition, and most never receive formal treatment. Early prevention and  intervention efforts can ensure parents/caregivers can seek and obtain the help their child needs. These issues could appear/be witnessed in any child, but may be more commonly seen in children with a disability.
