Shamrock Smoothie - variations

Experiment with types and proportions of ingredients!
Various options to get the green colour - green apples, kale, spinach, honeydew melon, kiwi
Various options for filler - ripe bananas are ideal, even frozen
Various options for extra taste - strawberries, mango, raspberries
Non-Fat Yogurt, milk, or other lactose-free milk
Crushed Ice, as needed. If any of the fillers are frozen, you may not need ice
Mint or peppermint flavouring (optional), or mint leaves

Sample proportions - but add more ingredients as needed
For Green Apple smoothie - 2 Granny Smith apples, cored, 1-1/2 to 2 cups yogurt, 1 banana, 2 cups of other fruit (frozen is fine), 2 cups spinach.

For Kiwi smoothie
3 small or 2 large frozen bananas, 2 kiwifruit, peeled, 2 cups fresh baby spinach, almond milk or yogurt




Place all the ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.

A fun way to provide both a fruit and vegetable serving!
